The Simandou project in Guinea
The Simandou project, located in Guinea, is one of Baowu Resources’ flagship international development projects and a strategic asset for the global mining sector. With 4.4 billion tonnes of proven high-grade iron ore reserves, it includes the construction of over 600 km of railway and modern port infrastructure, representing a total estimated investment of USD 20 billion mobilized by all project partners.
BRWA operates Blocks 1 and 2 with WCS while collaborating with SimFer on Blocks 3 and 4. Once operational, the project will deliver 120 million tonnes annually, boosting regional economies, infrastructure, employment, and the global iron ore supply chain – all in service of sustainable steelmaking.
