WHO WE ARE
Baowu Resources West Africa (BRWA), a 100% Guinean subsidiary of Baowu Resources (part of China Baowu Group, the world’s leading steelmaker), leads the Simandou project with an innovative and responsible approach. Acting on behalf of its parent company, BRWA ensures the project’s strategic coordination.
In collaboration with the Guinean government, industrial partners, and local communities, BRWA is working to make Simandou a model for green, efficient, and responsible mining, contributing to sustainable development and regional stability.
Our Projects
The Simandou project, located in Guinea, is one of Baowu Resources' key international development projects and a major strategic asset in the global mining sector. It boasts 4.4 billion tonnes of proven high-quality iron ore reserves and includes the construction of over 600 km of railway as well as modern port infrastructure. BRWA operates Blocks 1-2 with WCS, and jointly develops Blocks 3-4 with Rio Tinto and Chalco.

With an expected annual production capacity of 120 million tons, the project will significantly boost the Guinean economy while securing global supply chains through local job creation and the development of sustainable infrastructure.
